How to Find The Lord Stone

You can locate The Lord Stone’s primary location by traveling out of the capital city of Dawnstar, heading southwest, or coming out of Morthal and heading directly east. You will have to travel up a large mountain that the stone is situated atop of no matter which direction you head from.

If you come from Dawnstar, the path will be more open, going past Fort Dunstead and Hall of the Vigilant. Coming from the direction of Morthal will have you traveling up a steep path with steps to go up the side of this mountain past the Shrine of Mehrunes Dagon.

The Lord Stone’s Blessing

The Lord Stone is one of five of the Standing Stones which grants a statistical bonus, and two of which grant any sort of armor or damage reduction bonus. Out of these damage reduction blessings, this particular one is the only that does not come with an associated drawback of any kind while also being the only one which gives a boost to your actual armor as well. The actual statistical bonus of the stone translates into +50 armor points and +25% magic resistance.

Overall the Lord Stone is certainly one of the better all-around Standing Stones when it comes to giving you a perpetual bonus that only serves to help you. Light Armor wearing players may find the additional damage reduction to be a welcome benefit. The other stat-boosting stones which comes without a drawback is the Atronach Stone; however it only adds magika damage resistance through spell absorption.

Upon first reaching the Lord Stone and potentially again in the future, you will encounter a trio of Bandits who spawn and essentially live at the stones location. You can even find their beds and a campfire here and if you manage to sneak up on them, can encounter one of them taking a nap.

In one instance of my travel to this location, there was also a Frost Troll that managed to spawn nearby and ended up taking out all the Bandits by itself before attacking me, which means this can also be a possibility.

Besides the loot dropped by your enemies slain, there are a pair of Corundum Ore Veins you can mine from in the area. The first of which is just next to the platform the stone is on, found against its southwest corner. The second is bit further away, northeast of the stone, but reachable by taking the path that leads down the mountain to the west until you find a small path open to the right of the path. Follow this against the rock wall past a few trees to locate the other vein. Remember, you can check the pictures to the right and enlarge them by clicking on them to get a better view of where they are.
