Treasure Map VI
Great Skyrim Treasure Hunt Guide

Treasure Chest VI - Location
The chest itself nestled on the arch by an old tree growing out of the stone.

This walkthrough for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim serves to assist players in finding Treasure Map VI and the associated Treasure Chest as part of the series of unmarked objectives known collectively as The Great Skyrim Treasure Hunt. The maps that make up the treasure hunt can be found in various locations around Skyrim. Each of these chests are filled with an assortment of leveled valuables, the worth of which is determined by your current character level.

Treasure Map VI location: Secondary Location – A Bloody Trail (The Pale)
Treasure Chest VI Location: Korvanjund

Note: Remember you can only find the treasure chest once you have retrieved the proper map to begin with. You cannot skip ahead and try to head to the chest without first finding the map, as it will not be there.

How to Find Treasure Map VI
A Bloody Trail (The Pale)

In order to find Treasure Map VI, you will have to travel to an unmarked secondary location known as A Bloody Trail located within The Pale hold region, otherwise known as the portion of Skyrim which is governed by the capital city of Dawnstar. The easiest way to reach this location is to fast travel to the Lord Stone and take the path outlined in the picture above, which is essentially travelling south and east a bit to get around some rock outcroppings that prevent you from taking a direct route. The arrow points to the exact location of where you will need to be.

Alternatively, you can head directly east from Stonehill Bluff to look for the corpse of the Female Deadwood Elf which is your target here, looking for a set of bloody paw prints on the ground which denotes you are nearby your target. If found, you can follow these footprints from the male Wood Elf which lies in the nearby woods, containing a few random items worth some coin towards his ex-companion whom lies in eternal rest in the midst of some rocks that jut out of the snow covered ground. Once found, loot the corpse of the Female Wood Elf to nab Treasure Map 6, which will show you the chest’s location at Korvanjund.

If you are having trouble with these directions, as the elves can be a bit tricky to find, you can check the video guide below for a detailed walkthrough of this process done in real time.

Finding Treasure Chest VI
Korvanjund

Finding the Treasure Chest associated with Treasure Map VI is quite simpler than locating the map itself. First you will need to head to the primary location of Korvanjund, which depending on your progression through various quests, will likely be inhabited with some variety of enemy NPCs, which in my case happened to be a group of bandits (without the specific quest in mention being active). You can reach this location by heading directly east from the map’s location past a couple of giant encampments, or by travelling north from Whiterun past Whitewatch tower and northeast from Loreius Farm. The location is pretty accessible, so there are no specific routes you are forced into taking here and you will see the ancient structure quite some distance away before actually reaching it.

Once at Korvanjund, head to its south side from the high ground (don’t drop down into the lower area within the structure itself or climb out using the steps if you already have) and look for the large arch which is partially built into the surrounding landscape. Atop this arch is a single dead looking tree of considerable age which has the Treasure Chest you seek readily visible at the base of it’s trunk. Just walk onto the arch from the surrounding land area to nab you earned rewards.
