Overview

Nearing the end of the industrial chain, the ninth part of the series sends you one last time to an encounter in a system where you are provided with your own little personal field of asteroids—this time the far more valuable Kernite as opposed to the veldpar you had before.

Your main objective will be to fly a ship with a mining laser and harvest a couple cycles from the asteroids at your encounter to cause a lone pirate ship to appear. Once they show up, you’ll need to destroy it with some light weaponry and retrieve the aforementioned Production Assistant from a cargo container that falls out of the pirate’s wreck.

It is once again preferable to outfit your venture mining frigate with a couple of combat drones while bringing a pair of mining lasers to harvest as much as possible. In fact, it is definitely worth stripping the area as each m³ of kernite is worth 25% or so more than veldspar. Besides just being more valuable, having some kernite to refine can provide you with some resources you can use for the last mission.
