Daedric Weapons Crafting Guide

This crafting guide will cover the Daedric Weapons group of items that are created using the Smithing skill in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. You will find tables referencing relevant statistical data that helps players choose which weapons are best for their character, including the items needed in order to make these pieces and the overall profit that can be made in doing so. Generally, the Daedric Weapons are considered the most powerful crafted weapons within the game of Skyrim, becoming more beastly once improved and enchanted.

All items of the Daedric Weapons and Daedric Armor category require both Ebony Ingots and Daedra Hearts in order to craft. Both of these items, particularly the Daedra Hearts are considerably rare and hard to find in the land of Skyrim. Even though these hearts can be used for potions in alchemy, it is highly advised that you do not use them for this, as they are worth far more when used for making weapons or armor, not only considering their application but overall value as well.

In order to upgrade the quality of these weapons, you require a single Ebony Ingot and the use of a Grindstone. The exact benefit of this process is affected by your Smithing skill and can be upped by using potions and enchanted items worn while crafting. Finally, if you ever expect to get your hands on these weapons, crafting is your best bet as they are incredibly hard to find from merchants and chests, and even so, only at very high levels.

Daedric Battleaxe

2-Handed Melee Weapon

The double-sided Daedric Battleaxe has two serrated edges, one bigger than the other following the lopsided scheme of the Deadra items. The larger side ends with a large spike on the bottom end that curves over and overlaps the handle. If two massive blades with multiple teeth of mini blades doesn’t cut it, give them a smack with the base which has a third even smaller bladed edge for good measure.

Daedric Bow

2-Handed Ranged Weapon

The most powerful ranged weapon you can craft, the Daedric Bow looks almost as though it would be equally effective in melee with a set of four spikes that curve out of the front, almost serving as a second set of cross-hairs when looked past to aim. Blood red inlays trace small lines on the sides of the limbs of the bow, thanks to the use of blood from a Daedra Heart in the crafting process.

Daedric Dagger

1-Handed Melee Weapon

The incredibly deadly looking Daedric Dagger is the perfect weapon for your stealth assassinations. When coupled with the sneak perk that multiples sneak attacks with daggers x15, these kinds of attacks with this dagger are liable to instant kill about any target. Added enchantments will give you god-like touches of death.

Daedric Greatsword

2-Handed Melee Weapon

The handle of the Daedric Greatsword is about the only part of this weapon which doesn’t look to be exceptionally deadly. Although aim is not much of an issue, if it were you certainly would have no problem catching your enemy with at least one of these deadly sections even if drunkenly flailing the weapon while blindfolded.

Daedric Mace

1-Handed Melee Weapon

The Daedric Mace is one of the few types of its class of weapon that looks to cause serious damage with bladed and serrated spikes, much like all Daedra items, as opposed to a smashing, blunt eight attached to its top. If practical uses were a consideration, another great selling point would probably be its ability to core apples with vicious style, however, ripping out chunks of your enemies works pretty well too.

Daedric Sword

1-Handed Melee Weapon

Daedric Swords look similar to the smaller dagger version, just enlarged a considerable amount with equally larger choppy bits. The most significant difference between the two weapons, other than size is the hilt of the sword which ups the deadly feel with a set of opposite facing spikes that give it a sideways S shape.

Daedric War Axe

1-Handed Melee Weapon

If you took the larger two-handed Daedric Battleaxe and removed the smaller side in place for a pair of spikes, you would have the Daedric War Axe. Liker the bigger version, the one-handed axe has a bottom tip that ends in a large spike overlapping part of the stem of the weapon. A pyramidal spike on the large bladed edge will make sure your target really fails the pain of your blows.

Daedric Warhammer

2-Handed Melee Weapon

The Daedric Warhammer is by far the deadliest looking weapon of the group, the weighted portion of which looks as though it could literally punch the souls out of your target. Technically, it could at least steal them with the proper enchantment, which short of having a scythe, would probably be the Grim Reaper’s choice weapon.
