Dwarven Armor Crafting Guide
This crafting guide for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim covers the Dwarven Armor pieces that can be crafted by your player character through the use of the Smithing skill and related Dwarven crafting perk, unlocked through advancement in the skill tree. Within this guide you will find details covering the overall profit you can make, considering the rise in value from base ingredients against the finished product, as well as the base statistics granted through using the equipment.
The Dwarven Armor pieces all share a common gold colored theme, possessing various patterned inlays on the equipment and a general look of wear to the armor, which can be considered odd especially when freshly crafted. Bolts that seem to hold the pieces together are common, with some browns and blues mixed in to the color scheme.
All of the crafted items of this category, including Dwarven Weapons, require some amount of Dwarven Ingots to create. The ingots used for Dwarven Armor are found by breaking down the Dwemer Metals that can be found through searching the various Dwemer Ruins in the lands of Skyrim. In addition, you will also need to spend one of your perk points to unlock the Dwarven Smithing perk, which in turn requires that you have at least a skill level of 30 in the Smithing skill tree along with already having unlocked Steel Smithing.
As a final note, using a workbench to upgrade your Dwarven Armors all require a single Dwarven Ingot as well, so make sure to have some extras lying around. The benefit of the workbench will depend on various stat boosts and your skill level.
All the equipment crafted in the Dwarven group of armor pieces are considered to be Heavy Armor, deriving their increase in armor rating from that skill and effects that modify it.
Dwarven Armor
A golden chest piece with various studs and intricate patterns carved into its surface. The bottom portion consisting of blue cloth and plates on each thigh. The most profitable item of this group to craft.

Dwarven Boots
Heavy boots sharing the same straight lined patterns carved into the surface. It has metal flaps that extend all the way down to the heel of the shoe. Scratches and scuffs are also clearly visible. Seems to show more of a brown rusted type of color than the majority of gold which the other pieces represent. Crafting these boots will result in lost overall value.

Dwarven Gauntlets
The Dwarven Gauntlets show, again, a general level of wear on the surface and triangular patterns on the wrist pieces, which themselves are substantially larger than the hand portion. A bar on the side of each wrist portion seems to have been implemented to block blows with the hands to dome degree and a large bolt at the top to affix the pieces together. Armor plating extends all the way down to the fingers with more bolts at the base.

Dwarven Helmet
The Dwarven Helmet is certainly one of the more visually intriguing Heavy Armor helmets out of the craftable items, covering up the majority of the face minus slits for the eyes and mouth. There are little to no inlays in the same manner as the other pieces, while having a large protrusion from the top of the head. The general look of the helmet seems to show a face in distress. Perhaps the Dwemer suffered from depression…

Dwarven Shield
The Dwarven Shield is the second most profitable item of this group to create, exhibiting many studs and a series of square shaped impressions that curve around the top. A piece cut out of the top seems to have been implemented for practical purposes, potentially allowing the user to raise the shield near the face yet still see past the shield itself. Considering the shield is liable to take the most blows of any of the armor pieces, it is odd considering it has some of the least visible damage compared to the other items. A unique insignia of sorts seems to take up the center portion of the shield.
