This guide for the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim covers a variety of details for crafting Orcish Weapons as part of the Smithing skill. With the use of a forge and the appropriate skill tree perk, you can craft a variety of offensive equipment. Just like the Orcish Armor pieces which are part of the same Smithing group, these weapons all require a single Orichalcum Ingot in order to upgrade in quality with the use of a Grindstone. In order to unlock the crafting group, you will have to spend a point on Orcish Smithing, which is unlocked after spending perks on Steel, then Dwarven, while also requiring a level of 50 in your Smithing skill. These items are outpaced in damage and value by the next group up the skill tree, which are the Ebony Weapons once you hit level 80 in that tree.

All of the Orcish Weapons fair pretty poorly in the profit margin aspect and it is suggested you go craft the armor instead (guide linked above) if you’re looking to make a profit from Orichalcum.

Orcish Battleaxe

Two-Handed Melee Weapon

The Orcish Battleaxe really sets the tone for the crude craftsmanship that is a cornerstone of all Orc equipment. A one-sided massive axe blade, made entirely of metal, sits atop of a long handle that is wrapped all the way up in a crosshatch manner with leather strips. At the bottom of the handle seems to be a stone strapped to the weapon to serve as a counter weight, reinforcing my earlier point.

Orcish Bow

Two-Handed Ranged Weapon

The only profitable item to craft out of all eight weapons, the Orcish Bow is also perhaps the only of its class that can be considered almost elegant in any way. The limbs of the bow are layered with leather strips wrapped around the dark handle portion. Even though the edges of the limbs are finely cut, perhaps giving it the ability to bend slightly as the line is drawn back, the metal shows heavy signs of wear and discoloration.

Orcish Dagger

One-Handed Melee Weapon

The Orcish Dagger takes almost twice as much to craft as it is worth, nor does it look to hot either. The blade and its hilt look sort of like a shiv or shank made in a prison cell thanks to the overall low quality of the weapon. This will probably will end up giving your target tetanus later.

Orcish Greatsword

Two-Handed Melee Weapon

This bent up, notched, scratched, and rusted Orcish Greatsword is surprisingly the biggest septum drain of all the weapons in this group. It’s very basic with the typical color scheme and leather cross hatched patterned going up the handle. Orcs are probably not the most sought after smithers for fashionable items, then again, effectiveness is probably the end goal here.

Orcish Mace

One-Handed Melee Weapon

The Orcish Mace consists of two complete pieces of metal strapped to either end of a handle wrapped in what appears to be some cloth. The striking side is essentially four sides of spiked, notched death, being on the less simple side of the Orcish crafting design scale. Where the striking side meets the handle is a tuft of fur and at its base is a smaller star shaped counterweight.

Orcish War Axe

Another relatively crude yet effective weapon, the Orcish War Axe seems to have some very noticeable imperfections in the forms of bubbles and folds in the metal by the base and stem. Whether or not they are forged this way on purpose is unknown, but it certainly makes it look a bit crap up close. The head makes up for this slightly by looking deadly nonetheless.

Orcish Warhammer

The Orcish Warhammer is the second most profitable weapon of this group to craft. While still being sold at a loss, it is the smallest loss out of all seven of the weapons. Perhaps it’s due to the fact that it is the one weapon besides the bow which seems to have some level of intentional design crafted into the metal portions of the weapon for more than just damage purposes.
